Workshare Cited as a Data Leak Prevention Strong Performer by Independent Analyst Firm Report gives Workshare top score for installed base and recognizes user-friendly approach to data leak prevention (DLP) SAN FRANCISCO and LONDON - June 10, 2008 - Workshare, a global leader in content protection and control, was among the select companies that Forrester evaluated in its June 6, 2008, Forrester report, The Forrester Wave™: Data Leak Prevention, Q2 2008. Forrester conducted an evaluation of eleven leading data leak prevention products across 74 criteria that were grouped into three categories, current offering, strategy, and market presence. Workshare received the highest score for the company's installed base and tied for top score for its go-to market strategy. According to key findings from Thomas Raschke, "It (Workshare) benefits from tight integration with Microsoft Office, email applications, and its ability to prevent the loss of metadata and hidden data in documents." The Forrester report is available for download from www.workshare.com. "We are extremely pleased with our overall standing in the Forrester Data Leak Prevention report and for receiving the top score for our installed base," said Brian Spector, general manager of Workshare's content protection solutions. In the report Thomas Raschke notes, "Workshare's client DLP product has been on the market since 2004 and has almost 2 million installed clients." Forrester's selection of Workshare as a strong performer is a reflection of Workshare's approach to preventing data leaks. The report also highlights that Workshare offers a balanced strategy and shines with tight integration with Microsoft Office. Raschke also notes that Workshare is "the only vendor that can clean metadata in documents" and that "Workshare Protect is tightly integrated with Microsoft's Rights Management System (RMS); it can automate the process of assigning rights via context-based, content-triggered actions, and supports full disk encryption (FDE) for laptops." The report also states that "the firm (Workshare) enjoys a broad reseller and partner base in many parts of the world. Its enterprise customers seek visibility, order, control, and accountability in a world of unstructured document assets - and they want to stop leaks. Workshare is attractive to customers looking for a bundle of content life-cycle management solutions, including leak prevention; mobile data encryption; data discovery and classification; and integration with change management, document management, and auditing."
